BD on Guinness Book of World Record for cleaning Dhaka city

Bangladesh makes Guinness Book of World Record by cleaning the capital city with joining of 7,021 people in a sweeping programme in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on April 13.
DSCC Chief Public Relations Officer Zakir Hossain confirmed the matter to media on Monday after the cleanliness campaign record was published on the official website of Guinness Book of World.
The DSCC authorities said that the symbolic programme was organized to make the city dwellers aware of the need to create transparent Dhaka. Throughit is not possible to clean the whole city, awareness will be increased
 among the people.
From now on the name of Dhaka city will be written on the Guinness Book of World Record.
The campaign titled ‘Detel Clean Dhaka’ was organized jointly by DSCC and Reckitt Benquezar Bangladesh. Thousands of people gathered to clean the road between Golap Shah Mazar and Zero Point in the capital around 10:50am on April 13.
Members of National Scout, Bangladesh National Cadet Core (BNCC), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Fire Service and Civil Defence, actors, different social organisations and educational institutions participated in the programme.
