A Bangladeshi national was shot to death by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India near Putkhali border area of Benapole early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam, 32, son of Monsur Ali, a resident of Balunda village in Putkhali union and a cattle trader.
Victim’s brother Saiful Islam said, the BSF members from Angrail camp fired gunshots at Monirul while he was returning home along with cattle
from India early morning, leaving him dead on the spot.
The Indian police from Gaighata Police Station of Chabbis Pargana district took away his body, said Lt Cl Abdur Rahim, commanding officer of BGB battalion-23.
