BD man in Libya abducted by IS

A Bangladeshi national and eight other foreigners had been abducted by the Islamic State warriors from al-Ghani oil field, south of Sirte in Libya on Friday, said a Foreign Ministry statement.
The abducted Bangladeshi has been identified as Mohammad Helal Uddin (Passport No. B0156553). He hailed from a village of Jamalpur district.
Quoting the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, the Foreign Ministry on Monday confirmed the abduction of Helal Uddin.
The Foreign Ministry and the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli are watching the issue very closely, the statement added.
They are trying to trace the whereabouts of Helal to free him from the hostage of the IS militants.
The IS militants launched attack on al-Ghani oil field, south of Sirte, and killed at least 11 security personnel. Of the deceased, some were beheaded, the statement said.
The other security personnel deployed al-Ghani oil field also launched counter attack to retain control of the oil field.
