Bangladesh Football team lost to Bahrain Football team by two goals to nil in their opening Group-E match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia on Wednesday. All the two goals were scored before the lemon-break.
Ali Abdula Haram of Bahrain put his team ahead by a header using a corner kick of his teammate Al-Aswad in the 34th minute of the play.
After seven minutes, Kamil Al-Aswad doubled the margin after dodging past Bangladesh goalie Anisur Rahman Zico. Earlier, Al-Aswad’s forceful shot was saved by Bangladesh custodian Zico in the 19th minute of the first half.
Al-Aswad’s spectacular free-kick was gripped by Zico in the 23rd minute of the game.
After one minute Ali Abdula Haram’s shot was saved by Zico.
Bangladesh got their first chance in the 27th minute but Sazzad failed to head the ball capitalizing a left-side cross of his teammate Rakib.
After the lemon-break, Abdullah Yousef Hilal got Bangladesh custodian Zico alone in the 55th minute of the clash but Zico saved his team from the danger.
Later, Bahrain got a good number of chances. But Bangladesh goalie saved his team from conceding more goals.
Bangladesh will take on Turkmenistan in the their second Group-E match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at the same venue on June 11.
