BD keen to sign cultural accord with Armenia

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, presently visiting Armenia, has said Bangladesh is keen to sign cultural accord with Armenia for exchanging both the counties’ rich heritage and traditional culture between people of the two nations.
“So far, Bangladesh has cultural agreements with 40 countries. We will take initiative to sign such agreement with Armenia soon,” he said in a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Hasmik Poghosyar in Armenia, according to a message receive here on Monday.
The Minister went Armenia to attend four-day international conference titled “Cultural Policy, Policy for Culture: The Role of Culture in Sustainable Development in Post 2015”, being held from July 10 to 14.
During the Meeting with Armenian Cultural Minister, Noor said Bangladesh government will also take step to initiate cultural exchange programme between Bangladesh and Armenia.
Hasmik said his country is also interested in increasing cultural ties with Bangladesh and they will welcome any initiative from Bangladesh in signing cultural accord between the two countries.
Noting that the culture and literature of both Bangladesh and Armenia are very rich and old, the Armenian minister said exchange of cultural programme will bring people of the two countries closer.
