BD-India district level confce begins

The district level bilateral conference between Bangladesh and India began in port city on Wednesday. The Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Ruhul Amin inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest in the morning.
Sources said, the bilateral conference of district level representatives of Bangladesh and India is taking place with bordering districts of two countries.
The DC and DM level representatives will highlight 10 issues including strengthening security system at border areas, avoiding border conflict and stopping smuggling through border.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Ruhul Amin said, the bilateral relation between Bangladesh and India is increasing day by day. The present government has taken a number of steps to cooperate with neighbouring India for strengthening security system at border area, avoiding border conflict and stopping smuggling through border, he pointed out. He said, “We are working for the development of two nations. We will reduce border crimes soon. The friendship among the people of both countries will help us to solve any sorts of border crisis by discussion.”
The Assistant High Commissioner of India to Chittagong Shomnath Haldar also delivered speech at the inaugural ceremony. Addressing the function, he said, “The friendships between two countries are an old history.
The culture and many rituals are same in India and Bangladesh. Therefore, the cooperation for development of Bangladesh will continue.”
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bangladesh and District Magistrate (DM) of India and top officials of Border Guard Bangladesh, representatives of Police and high officials of both countries are participating in the conference.
DC of Khagrachari Muhammad Wahidur Rahman is leading Bangladesh delegation while P R Bhattachariya, the DM of Unakati district of India is leading the Indian delegation at the conference. Addressing the conference, P R Bhattachariya said, “I hope that the steps of both governments will be continued for a sound law and order situation at border sides of two neighbouring countries.”
He said, “We will uphold the friendship in future and also increase our relationship.” Muhammed Wahidur Rahman said, “We will discuss on 10 agendas in the conference.
The conference will discuss on survey of land at the border area, stopping child and women trafficking and smuggling of drugs, intensifying the vigilance of both BGB and BSF at the border areas.” Several agreements and memorandums were are signed yesterday.
