Female archers of Bangladesh won silver medal in the Compound Women’s Team Event of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which was held at Konya in Turkiye on Wednesday. The Women’s Compound team consists of Roksana Akter, Shyamoli Roy and Puspita Zaman. They lost to hosts Turkiye team by 222-229 points in the final.
In the Recurve Men’s Team Event, Mohammad Hakim, Roman Sana, Md Sagor Islam defeated Sudan by 6-0 sets in the pre-quarter-final. They eased past Iran by 5-1 sets in the quarter-final and moved to the semi-final. Then, they lost to Indonesia by 2-6 sets in the semi-final. They thrashed Saudi Arabia by 6-0 sets and achieved bronze medal.
In the Recurve Women’s Team Event, Dia Siddique, Nasrin Akter and Beauty Roy moved to the semi-final crushing Malaysia by 6-0 sets in the quarter-final. In the semi-final, they lost to Indonesia by 4-5 sets after giving a heroic fight. Later, they secured bronze medal defeating Uzbekistan by 6-2 sets.
