The female archers of Bangladesh confirmed medal in the Compound Team Event of the Islamic Solidarity Games being held at Konya in Turkiye on Monday. Bangladesh female archers team consists of Shyamoli Roy, Roksana Akter and Puspita Zaman. They will play against the hosts Turkiye team in the final on August 17.
It may be mentioned that there are only two teams in Compound Women’s team event. So, female archers of Bangladesh and female archers of Turkiye will directly play in the final.
A total of 72 male archers and 50 female archers from 21 countries were taking part in the qualification round. 49 male archers took part in the Recurve Men’s Individual Event, while 40 female archers took part in Recurve Women’s Individual Event. 23 male archers took part in Compound Men’s Individual Event, while 10 female archers participated in Compound Women’s Individual Event.
Mohammad Hakim of Bangladesh became 10th in the Recurve Men’s Individual Event, while his compatriot Roman Sana finished 11th in this event and their compatriot Md Sagor Islam secured 16th position.
Roman Sana, Mohammad Hakim, Md Sagor Islam finished fifth in the Recurve Men’s Team Event.
In the Compound Women’s Individual Event, Roksana Akter became fifth, Shyamoli Roy secured sixth position and Puspita Zaman finished eighth.
