Bangladesh Cricket team will take on England Cricket team in the 1st One Day International (ODI) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today. The Day/ Night affairs begins at 2.30 pm BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).
State-owned channel Bangladesh Television and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the arena. Before today’s encounter, Bangladesh faced England in 16 ODI matches. Of them, England won 13 matches, while Bangladesh won on the three occasions.
Captain of Bangladesh team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said, ” After Afghan series, we are going to play a new series. We are thrilled. Our duty is to keep the consistency. Every series is very important for us. We don’t think this series a separate thing. If we play well and win the series, we will be happy.”
He said, ” We are in a positive mood. We have taken a step to play well. If we win the first match then it will act for us to overcome the pressure.”
Captain of England team Jos Buttler said, ” Bangladesh are stronger at home ground. It is very challenging for us to win the series against Bangladesh. Bangladesh have improved their performance. It is tough task for us to adapt with this condition. We have observed their skill in all departments (batting, bowling and fielding). We are now focusing to play well against them.”
He highly praised the security system of the law and enforcement authority of Bangladesh.
