BD discusses Dhaka-Tokyo direct flight

Bangladesh is in talks with Japan to have direct flight between Dhaka and Tokyo to make the communications between the two countries easier and strengthen the trade ties.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, now in Tokyo, had a series of meetings on Dhaka-Tokyo direct flight and exploring Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) or PPP for proposed Exclusive Tourist Zone (ETZ) at Sabrung in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
Menon had a meeting with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Japan Kazuyuki Nakane, according to a message received here on Thursday.
He also held a meeting with the State Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan on several bilateral issues, including tourism and civil aviation between the two friendly countries.
Menon exchanged views with MPs of Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship League.
Senior Executives from famous resort developers of Japan Tokyu Fudosan and Mitsui Fudosan met the minister and shared their experiences on setting up of ETZ at Sabrung.
The minister, who left Dhaka for Tokyo on September 22, is scheduled to return home on Friday.
