Bangladesh consulate in New York held a discussion meeting and doa mahfil in observance of 39th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.
Bangladeshis living in the eight states under the consulate attended the programme. At the beginning of the programme, one-minute silence was observed to pay respect to Bangabandhu and his family members who embraced martyrdom on August 15, 1975, a handout said.
Shirin Akter, MP, Bangladesh permanent representative to the United Nations Dr AK Abdul Momen, former MP Monirul Islam, among others, were present.
