Bangladesh Under-15 National Women’s Football team clinched the title of the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship beating India Under-15 National Women’s Football team by a solitary goal in the final at the Bir Shreshtha Saheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa
Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Sunday. Indian Women finished runners-up in the meet.
Shamsunnahar scored the all-important goal for Bangladesh Women.
Bangladesh Women got the first chance in the 22nd minute of the first half. Anuching Mogini got the ball in the danger zone from a short pass of Maria Manda but she failed to defeat the Indian custodian.
Tohura Khatun struck an angular shot after dodging past Indian defender but her shot went away near the second bar.
Shamsunnahar scored the match-decider in the 42nd minute of the play. Anuching Marma’s shot returned to Shamsunnahar after touching the hand of Indian goalie and Shamsunnahar put the ball into the net by a volley shot.
After the lemon-break, players of Bangladesh and India were engaged in attack and counter attack but they failed to convert those.
