Sharif Adibur Rahman, a class seven student of European Standard School (ESS) in the capital’s Dhanmondi area, has become runner-up at the Aloha in Tripura: 7th State Level Arithmetic International Competition-2017 was held in Maharani Tulshibati Girls High School Aditirium, Krishna Nagar, Aratala, Tripura, India on Sunday (17 December). Previous year’s Adib also become the first runner-up at International Arithmetic Competition of 2015, 2016 and 2017 held in Manila, Philippines and Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Kualalampur, Malaysia respectively. Every year nearly 50,000 students from 35 countries including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Philippines, Russia, USA and UK participated in this International Arithmetic Competition.
Adib is the 2nd son of Freedom fighter and Judge Sharif Lutfor Rahman from Gopalgong District and grandson of Prof ANM Abdul Mannan Khan, Ex-Chairman, Department of Arabic, Dhaka University.
