BD becomes role model for successful implementation of national budget

Lawmakers said Bangladesh has become a role model of development due to successfully execution of the budget proposed by the ruling Awami League. Taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget in the Jatiya Sangsad , the lawmakers said the proposed budget will be executed successfully like other previous budgets placed by the ruling party after coming to power since 1996.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on June 9 in the Jatiya Sangsad unveiled a Taka 6,78,064 crore national budget for 2022-23 fiscal setting the GDP growth target at 7.5 percent amid the economic fallout due to the Corona pandemic coupled with the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, reports BSS.
“Although the proposed budget is deficit budget …but 90 to 95 percent development works would be possible to complete by successful implementation of the proposed budget in line with other budget placed by the ruling Awami League,” said Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam of Chandpur-5.
Bangladesh has become a role model of development due to successful implementation of the budget placed by the government in last thirteen years, said ruling party lawmaker Biren Sikder of Magura-2. “The proposed budget is 12.3 percent more than the last year despite the vulnerability of the pandemic,” he told the parliament.
Hasanul Huq Inu of Kushtia-2 urged the government to keep the price of essentials under control at any cost through providing subsidy. He also urged the government to destroy the syndicate circle.
