Bangladesh Football team beat Cambodia Football team by a solitary goal in their FIFA International friendly match at Nompain in Cambodia on Thursday.
Rakib Hossain of Bangladesh scored the all-important goal in the 23rd minute of the play. Matin Mia of Bangladesh entered the Cambodian citadel with the ball from the midfield and then gave a through pass to Rakib Hossain and Rakib put his team ahead by a spectacular placing shot.
Earlier, Jamal Bhuyan of Bangladesh got the ball from a long throw of his teammate Bishwanath Ghosh but Jamal’s shot narrowly passed the goalbar in the 15th minute of the clash. After the interval, Matin Mia’s spectacular shot bounced back from the cross-piece in the 76th minute of the game. Cambodia got their easiest chance in the 19th minute of the match.
Cambodian Kakada’s forceful shot was saved by Bangladesh custodian Anisur Rahman Zico.
Bangladesh’s FIFA ranking is 192, while Cambodia’s FIFA ranking is 172. The match between Bangladesh and Cambodia was almost fifty-fifty affairs.
