Spirited Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Afghanistan Cricket team in the third and final One Day International (ODI) match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram today. Bangladesh team have already clinched the ODI series 2-0.
The game starts at 11.00am. Private satellite channel GTV and private sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
Bangladesh team led the ICC ODI World Cup Super League points table bagging 100 points from 14 matches, while Afghanistan team took the seventh position earning 60 points from eight matches.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Afghanistan faced each other in 10 ODI matches. Of them, Bangladesh recorded seven victories, while Afghanistan won in the three occasions.
Members of Bangladesh team and members of Afghanistan team took part in their optional practice session at ZACS on Sunday.
All-rounder of Bangladesh team Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, ” We and my contemporary cricketers have been playing for Bangladesh National Cricket team for six years. So, the time has come for us to contribute something for Bangladesh team. We shall get all sorts of cooperation from our senior players.”
Miraz said, ” We have experience for five to six years. We shall try to present better cricket executing our experience.”
He said, ” Our senior players give us back-up. They want that we can perform well. If the junior players perform well, the result of the team will be better. Our senior players usually perform well. If the junior players show a better brand of cricket, we can fetch a good result.”
He also said, ” Our senior players contributed something special to bring good result. Bangladesh ODI team have achieved a good position. We have learnt after watching their performance. If we can follow their performance, it will be better for us for our career.”
Captain of Afghanistan team Hashmatullah Shahidi commented about their performance in the second ODI, “We conceded a few too many in the early overs and then that partnership between Mushy and Liton took the game away from us. Wanted to restrict them under 260. We gave away too many extras and we will try to correct that in the next game.”
