Bangladesh A team suffered a batting debacle as they were dismissed in their first innings at 167 against visiting Sri Lanka A team on the first day of the four-day third unofficial Test on Tuesday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh suffered early batting jolt and eventually could not fight back in the match losing wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling display by the visitors.
Middle order batsman Zakir Hasan top scored with 42 runs while Sunzamul Islam added 41 in the Bangladesh’s dilapidated innings.
Prabath Jayasuriya, Shehan Jayasuriya and Malinda Pushpakumara shared three Bangladesh’s wickets conceding 12, 47 and 48 runs respectively.
In reply, Sri Lanka A started their first innings in the afternoon and scored 78 for 3 at stumps with the touring side still trailing by 89 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the innings.
Shehan Jayasuriya with 53 and Charith Asalanka with 7 were on the crease as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Soumya Sarkar, Mustafizur Rahman and Nayeem Islam took one Sri Lankan wicket each for 4, 20 and 26 runs respectively.
