The activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Monday allegedly beat up a student at Chittagong University suspecting him an activist of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.
The victim was identified as Shahidul Islam, a student of Education and Research Institute under 2014-15 academic year.
The BCL activists are known as the follower of Mansur Alam,Senior Vice-President of CU BCL suspended committee. The victim was once active in the politics as follower of Mansur Alam.
Earlier, 2016, he was seriously injured by the same group’s activists on the same allegation .
BCL men alleged that Shahidul Islam is an activist of Bangladesh Islami Chattra Shibir. BCL men protested him.
Conforming the incident, Mansur Alam said that Shahidul Islam is an activist of Chattra Shibir. We have evidence.
The chief medical officer of the University Medical Center Abu Tayab said:”the victim was seriously injured . After Primary treatment he was sent to Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital”.
Contracted, CU Assistant Proctor Liton Mitra said, “We have heard the matter. Action will be taken after the written complaint is received.
