The 29th council of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) will be held on May 11 and 12.
President of BCL, the student wing of the ruling Awami League, Saifur Rahman Sohag, on Trursday announced the date of the council at a press conference in its Bangabandhu Avenue’s Central Office.
Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is expected to be present at the inaugural session of the two-day council.
Bangladesh Chhatra League also will hold its
three major units’ council i.e. Dhaka University Unit on April 29 (Sunday), Dhaka Metropolitan South and Dhaka Metropolitan North on April 24 (Tuesday) and April 26 (Thursday) respectively.
The incumbent committee was formed with Saifur Rahman Sohag as President and SM Jakir Hossain as General Secretary for a two-year tenure in the 28th national council of BCL held on 25-26 July, 2015.
Bangladesh Chhatra League, the country’s oldest student organisation, began its journey on January 4, 1948, with the slogans of education, peace and progress.
