UNB, Chittagong :
Several shops and the office of Chittagong University (CU) fourth class employees’ Samity were vandalised during a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the university on Tuesday night.
The clash ensued between the supporters of former joint general secretary of CU BCL unit Sumon Mamun and its office secretary Jalal Ahmed over a trifling matter around 8:30pm when both the groups exchanged gunshots, said Mohammad Ismail, officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station.
Several shops near Gate No 2 of the university and the office room of the CU fourth class employees’ samity were also vandalised during the clash.
However, no injury was reported in the incident.
