UNB, Pirojpur :
Members of law enforcers in a drive arrested a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in possession of 74 pieces of Yaba tablets from Khadiza Medical area in Mathbaria upazila on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Ehsanul Haque Montu, 29, son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Patakata village under Dhanisafa union of the district and the vice-president of the Mathbaria upazila unit of BCL.
Mathbaria Police Station officer-in-charge Tariqul Islam said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Ehsan along with 74 pieces of Yaba pills. A case was filed against Tariqul in this regard, said the OC.
Contacted, BCL Pirojpur district unit BCL general secretary Khairul Islam Mithu said organisational measures are being taken against Ehsanul Haque over the incident.
