BCL leader beaten up by AL men at RU

 The leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League on Wednesday night beat up a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League following a previous enmity at Rajshahi University (RU). The injured leader is Razaul Korim Raju, an organising secretary of RU BCL unit.
According to the sources, Hasan Shahriar former vice president RU unit BCL beat up M Mizanur Islam, organising secretary of university unit BCL two days earlier while Mizanur and Raju went to Kedi Club mor area without any provocation at adjacent to the university.
Following the issue, on Wednesday night AL Motihar Thana unit joint-secretary Ariful Islam Rana sat with Raju and Hasan at the university’s food corner to discuss over the matter. But, at one stage, Hasan and Raju locked into an altercation and scuffled with each other, injuring Rana, said the eyewitnesses.ater, Rana was taken to the university’s medical center for his primary treatment.
However, Rana left the university medical center after taking treatment. Then a group of local AL leaders and activists led by BCL RU unit former vice president Eilas Hossain attacked on Raju in front of the university’s medical center, leaving him critically injured. Later, Raju was taken to Rajshahi Medical Collage Hospital as he got serious injuries on his head, legs and hands.
Razaul Korim Raju in this regard told The New Nation that he did not know why the AL leaders and activists beat him up such away.
Ariful Islam Rana, a joint-secretary AL Motihar Thana unit told The New Nation that he went to the university to solve their disputes but got injured as he has been trying to stop their scuffle.
While contacked, RU unit BCL former vice president Eilas Hossain denied the beating allegation.
However, Razaul Korim Raju lodged a complaint accusing Hasan, Elias, Minar, and 7-10 unknown persons with Motihar Police Station.
Officer-in-charge (investigation) of the police station Mahbub Alam, told The New Nation that they were securitizing the complaints.
