BCL, JL locked in dispute over using office

Activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League and Bangladesh Jubo League, engaging in factional dispute over using office for gambling locked organizational office at Gachhua in Muladi upazila of Barishal.
The incident happened after local residents raised objection about hue and cry sounds coming from that office regularly.
Nazrul Islam Babu, president of Gachhua union Jubo League, alleged that BCL activists led by upazila BCL president Jubayer Ahmmad alias Jewel Rana locked union BJL office on Tuesday late afternoon.
From that office activities of BJL have been operating organizational activities for 15 years.
BJL activists opposing gambling in the area using that office, threw away playing cards, carom boards and other items used for gambling on Sunday and cautioned that if any one uses that place for gambling, would be handed over to police.
After that BCL activists led by Jubayer Ahmmad locked the BJL office and cautioned to punish if any one tries to unlock that office, the BJL leader added.
However, upazila BCL president Jubayer Ahammad, counter claimed that the locked premise was not BJL office, but it was union BCL office.
He locked the office after local people raised objection about gambling in that office destroying image of the organization and moral of the local youths, upazila BCL president said.
Foyezuddin Ahmmad, officer in charge of Muladi police station, said they yet not received any allegation in this connection and action would be taken if any one lodge complain.
