Two factions of Abdul Latif Hall unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Rajshahi University (RU) locked into a clash and counter clash on Saturday midnight over establishing supremacy.
The clash ensued at 12:30am on Saturday early night at the hall. During the clash the BCL activists were shown with firearms and other country made weapons while they run vandalism at several rooms of the hall.
The resident student of the hall said, a group of 8 to 10 BCL activists led by Shamim Ahmed, a fourth year student of applied physics and also a president candidate of the hall unit committee to talk over a previous dispute went to the room no 210 of the hall where Mizanul Haque Mizan who is also the president candidate and a four year student of physics department.
At one step of talking, Shamim and Mizan locked into an altercation while Shamim threatened Mizan with dare consequence. At this moment, Sujon a third year student of Islamic History and also the secretary candidate to the hall unit BCL protested at the threat of Shamim and afterward they locked into chase and counter chase inside the hall.
Mizan and his followers rushed to the Shamim’s possessing room no 301, 303, 305 and 318 and vandalized the window pans and doors of the rooms.
