BCL brings out joy march to mark Hasina`s birthday

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Thursday brought out a colourful joy march in celebrating 70th birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The joy march was brought out from in front of Modhu’s Canteen of Dhaka University (DU) at noon. The student marchers paraded different streets on the campus and converged into a brief rally in front of the sculpture of independence ‘Aparajeyo Bangla’.
BCL President Md Saifur Rahman Sohag presided over the rally, also addressed, among others, by General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, Vice-President Tarekur Rahman Milon, Joint Secretary Rezaul Islam Reza, Office Secretary Delwar Hossain Shahzada, DU unit BCL President Abid Al Hasan, General Secretary Motahar Hossain Prince, Dhaka South City BCL President Bayezid Ahmed Khan and Dhaka North City BCL President Syed Mizanur Rahman.
In his speech as the chairperson, Md Saifur Rahman Sohag said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the envoy of world peace. She has given democracy and economic emancipation to the Bangalee nation. Bangladesh has now surfaced to the world as the role model of development under her leadership. Bangladesh now means Sheikh Hasina.”
Apart from central leaders of BCL, leaders-workers of its DU unit, different hall units and Dhaka City South and North units also took part in the joy march on the occasion.
The marchers carried portraits of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sajeeb Wazed Joy. They played flutes, ‘vuvujelas’, drums and other musical instruments and danced on the streets while participating in the joy march.
