Recruitment of manpower without their consent: BCL activists ransack Bakerganj UZ Statistic Office

Cadres of Bangladesh Chhatra League on Tuesday afternoon ransacking upazila statistic office locked chainman Shamsuzzaman inside the room protesting appointing manpower without their consent.
Later, Madhabi Roy, upazila nirbahi officer, rushed to the spot opening the lock rescued the detained chainman.
It was learnt that interview for appointing 300 employees for operating upcoming public census was held on Monday (February 3) as advertisement published. The result of the interview was published on notice board of the statistic office.
Chainman Shamsuzzaman, after rescued told the journalists, that BCL activists led by Saiful Islam Dakua, president, Akkas Hossain, vice president, Delwar Hossain, Sohel, activists of upazila BCL seeing the list selected person started rebuking the upazila statistical officer and torn the hoisted list of the selected persons.
The BCL cadres also charged that why manpower was selected without taking consent from the Bakerganj upazila town mayor AL leader Lokman Hossain Dakua.
The BCL cadres snatching key from him entering inside the office ransacked the room and locked him from outside, Shamsuzzaman added.
Madhabi Roy, upazila nirbahi officer, said she rushed to the spot breaking the lock rescued the detained chainman and proper action would be taken against the attackers.
Shamsul Alam Chunnu, upazila chairman and AL leader, acknowledging the fact of attacking and ransacking statistic office, said he was not informed or involved with selection procedure of manpower for operating public census in the upazila.
Siful Islam Dakua, upazila BCL president, denying his involvement with the incident claimed upazila nirbahi officer Madhobi Roy and statistic officer Muhammad Golam Mustafa selected men of BNP-Jamaat by taking bribe and avoiding supporters and activists of ruling pro-liberation forces. So some agitated AL and its front organization activists protesting that may attack the statistic office.
Abul Kalam, officer in charge of Bakerganj police station, said police visited the spot and action would be taken against the attackers if any written allegation would be lodged.
