BCL activist shot dead in Nalchity

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist succumbed to his injuries at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) on Sunday noon.
 He has been identified as Sajal Hawladar, 18, son of Rafiq Haoladar from Kamdevpur under Mollarhut union of Nalchity upazila in Jhalakathi district.
He passed the HSC Examination from the Mollarhut Z A Bhutto College last year and was on the waiting list for admission into the honours course at Barisal B M College.
But, immature death ended all his dreams and his parents’ aspiration. Quoting local sources, police said that Sajal left home at around 9:30 AM on Sunday driving his motorcycle.
On the way, he was ambushed by his rivals at a two-kilometer distance from his home. They bringing him in a vacant room of Maluhar Government Primary School and shot him.
The killers left the place leaving injured Sajal and his motorcycle at none’s care.
 But people, who took shelter from rain on the school compound, heard the snivel of the victim, ran to the spot and brought him to the SBMCH at about 11:20 AM.
Rafik Hawladar, father of the victim, failed to say anything about the cause of murder except that he had altercation with some people during the last UP election.
Wasim Haoladar, Nalchity upazila BCL President, said that Sajal was an activist of BCL and he demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the killers
Dr. Shahidul Islam, assistant registrar of surgery unit-2, SBMCH, said there was a bullet injury in the upper knee of the left leg which cut a main artery and he died from excessive bleeding at about 12:30 PM on Sunday.
The body was sent to morgue for autopsy, SBMCH sources said.
AKM Sultan Mahmud, Officer-in-Charge of Nalchity Police Station, said that after hearing the news police visited the spot and till this report no case was lodged in this connection.
