BCC to form ward committees, fix 174 spots for slaughtering sacrifial animals in Eid -ul- Azha

Barisal City Corporation (BCC) authority will form 30 committees in 30 wards of BCC led by local general and reserved female ward councilors and fixed 174 spots for slaughtering sacrificed animals during Eid Ul Azha this year.
Ahsan Habib Kamal, BCC Mayor, said in the year 2015 twenty percent out of fixed 61 spots and in 2016 sixty percent out of 140 spots fixed slaughtering sacrificial animals were used.
This year numbers slaughtering spots and so local ward councilors gave responsibilities to maintain those making speedy cleaning of wastages, the city mayor explained.
Dr. Robiul Islam, veterinary surgeon of BCC, said as per direction of the concerned ministry this year also at least two spots in each of 30 wards and highest 11 spots (in ward no. 26) were fixed by BCC for slaughtering sacrificing animals. They also supply bags and bleaching powders, water sources to clear wastes
If anyone slaughters animals at private spots by his choice, then BCC will also help them to clear their wastes if packed in bags. However if any one after this breaking laws polluted the environment and makes unhygienic situation, then action would be taken against them, the BCC official added.
The BCC officials said the 8 to 13-member committees will led by local ward councilors. They with the help of Imams of local mosques, handbills, leaflets will try to motivate the people for sacrificing their animals at the BCC fixed spots.
