The formalin testing machine of Barisal City Corporation went out of order during operating an anti-formalin drive at Falpatty area of the city on Thursday.
The mobile court was formed by BCC magistrate Imtiaz Ahmed Jewel and accompanied by Jahangir Hossain Molla, BCC sanitary inspector and members of law enforcing agencies.
The court fined Messer’s Zakir Hossain and Khokan Stores, two fruit traders, Tk.5, 000 each after formalin treated mango and malta found in their stocks.
However the formalin detection machine went out of order during the drive and so the BCC mobile court suspended operation.
