A female Councillor of the Barisal City Corporation has been arrested on Sunday for allegedly attempting to provoke violence.
Sharif Taslima Kalam Polly, elected from the women’s reserved seats, is a member of the BNP’s women front in its Barisal unit.
The BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in the Barisal division amid its ongoing countrywide
transport blockade. Kotwali Model Police Station OC Sakhawat Hossain said that Polly was arrested from the city’s C&B Road area on Sunday morning for attempting to create violence during the shutdown.
