BCC attains international test maturity certification

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) has attained Test Maturity Model Integration (TMMi) level-3 certification from the international TMMi Foundation for increasing capacity to test software quality as the first government organization from south Asia. BCC Executive Director Parthapratim Deb said, “The test maturity certification provided by the TMMi Foundation is recognition to Bangladesh’s enhancing capacity to test quality of software,” said a press release.
He also said that as part of exploratory program, BCC set up a State-of-the-Art Software Quality Testing and Certification Center (SQTC) unit to facilitate the testing of all software/applications/mobile apps developed and procured by the government entity for e-Governance service delivery. He hoped that the ability will help ensure smooth and uninterrupted journey towards building of Digital Bangladesh as enshrined in the vision 2021. Director of National Data Center Tarique M Barkatullah said the SQTC will provide quality to the IT/ITES Industry if required to assure overseas clients. Beside, SQTC quality will ensure that the e-Gov applications are free from bugs and malicious code, he added.
TMMi is an Ireland based foundation, which support companies around the world to enable an increase in the quality and efficiency of the software, and TMMi Level -3 is a level that determines more maturity of an organization to test software quality management.
