Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is ‘positive’ to tour to Sri Lanka as they have been working to finalise the schedule for a three-match ODI series there.
The series was thrown into doubt following the April 21 Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka churches and hotels that killed more than 250 people.
As Sri Lanka has promised of providing highest level security to the Tigers, the series has found steam and is set to be rolled out.
Earlier, BCB sent a four-member Security Analysis delegation to Colombo, which returned a few days back and submitted its report to BCB.
In the light of their report, BCB sent some queries to Sri Lanka Cricket Board to which they complied and one of them was to hold all of the three matches in Colombo. The BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the Sri Lanka
Cricket Board complied with their demand.
“They complied with our demand to hold all of the three matches in Colombo and therefore we are very positive about the tour,” Chowdhury told BSS on Sunday.
“Now we are working on the dates of the three matches. We have sent a schedule with which the Lankan board has been working. They will let us know about it soon and then we will release the schedule.”
The three ODIs against Sri Lanka in the Island nation was scheduled to be held on July 25, 27 and 29 respectively.
But it is likely that the schedule could be changed.
