Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send a four-member security team to Pakistan on Saturday, ahead of the proposed tour of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team to Pakistan later this year.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan disclosed this while talking to reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
“Our security team will go to Pakistan to get an understanding of the security situation from the arrival to departure of our Women’s team in Karachi Airport,” said the BCB president.
The security team will inspect two venues of the tour in response to a letter sent to the Bangladesh High Commission in Pakistan, which is the second step in the process for the proposed tour.
The four-member security team is likely to be formed with three BCB officials while the other member will be an official of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The series has been a possibility since Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan visited Bangladesh last year.
In response to a query about the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, Nazmul said, “Five companies have deposited their payment as per the rule in due time and five companies, including a new one, applied to extend the time……..still they are maintaining communication with us.”
