The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) insisted on Tuesday that it has planned to reschedule the current contract with spin bowling consultant Daniel Vettori. This plan comes up as BCB has initiated a plan to give extra attention to the Bangladeshi spinners. BCB will ask Vettori to spend his time with the spinners during the offseason. Moreover, the former New Zealand all-rounder will land Bangladesh tomorrow as the Zimbabwe series is about to begin.
Additionally, the former ace spinner of New Zealand appointed by BCB at the last year’s July. As per the current contract, he is assigned to work for the Bangladesh Cricket Team for 100 days. Besides, his contract will expire after the 2020 T20I World Cup that scheduled to begin from the later stage of this year in Australia. BCB is paying for USD 2500 per day according to the deal.
However, BCB is planning to make some changes to this deal. He will provide coaching to the spinners of Bangladesh during his free time and off-season. Moreover, BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury has also informed the news and indicated Vettori has no problem with that.
Yes, we are planning to make some changes in his contract and he is fine with it. We want our spinners will learn a lot from him.
Vettori will work additional time with Bangladeshi spinners to improve them.
Furthermore, Nizamuddin Chowdhury indicated that BCB has a plan to make the right balance with the new contract style of Vettori.
He [Vettori] is quite fine with it as he has time on his hands. But, we must also remember that someone like him staying in the dressing room during international matches will have a positive impact on the minds of the players. We need to make sure there is the right balance to ensure we get maximum output from him.
