Amu leaves for New York

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu left here for the United States on Sunday night to take part in an international forum discussion on ‘Eliminating Inequalities and Ensuring Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene: Foundations of Success Across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).’
He is leading a three-member Bangladesh delegation to the forum. Other members of the delegation are – State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jahid Malek and additional secretary of Industries Ministry Begum Parag.
The forum will be held in New York on September 29 as part of the 70th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
In addition to ensuring access to water, sanitation and hygiene, detailed discussions will be held in the forum on enhancing facilities for women in health sector and ways to prevent water pollution from industries wastes.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will join the forum as a panel discussant.
Besides, he will take part in a discussion meeting on “Global Partnership for Sustainable Development’ today. He will also attend a discussion as chief guest to be organized by local Juba League at Jackson Heights marking the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this evening.
After the US visit, Amir Hossain Amu will go to Denmark on October 2 at the invitation of the Danish government.
