The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given a gunman crickter Shakib Al Hasan. He arrived at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) at the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday for the practice sessions. When he entered the Home of Cricket it was seen that he came with an armed personal.
Bangladesh Cricket Board deployed the arrangement after their worthy asset had faced life threat just two days ago.
On Tuesday last, a man called Mohsin Talukdar became visible on his Facebook live video with a local lethal weapon and threatened Shakib Al Hasan to kill through swearing as he claimed the 33-year-old cricketer degraded Islam by inaugurating a Puja Mandop at Kolkata in India last week. Talukdar demanded that ace all-rounder has to ask apology.
Later, Talukdar was arrested by law-enforcing agency and the whole matter created huge debate at social media.
Though BCB doesn’t think Shakib is under big threat but it doesn’t take any risk. So, BCB deployed a gunman for security concern of Shakib.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BCB Nizamuddin Chowdhury said to the journalists, “Since a situation arose after an incident took place, we have taken precautionary measures. We have appointed one from among our own security personnel. It’s not like there is a big threat and which is why we have taken this measure.”
Shakib Al Hasan is taking part in the practice sessions at the SNCCS to compete in the up coming five-team Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket. The cricket tournament will start from November 14 at the Home of Cricket.
