The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday announced Bangladesh A team squad for the tour of Ireland with Mominul Haque, Soumya Sarkar and Taskin Ahmed are included in the squad that will take on Ireland A in a limited-overs series starting from August 1.
Mominul will lead the second string Bangladesh side in the five One-day series while top order batsman Soumya Sarkar will captain the team for the three T20 matches that follow the 50-over games.
The Bangladesh A team are expected to leave for Dublin on July 28.
Mominul recently featured in the two Tests against Windies in which he had poor numbers. After a solitary run in both innings combined in North Sound, Mominul ended the Test series with another duck and a score of 15 in the Kingston Test.
Soumya, who has played only T20Is for Bangladesh in 2018, has also not been in the best of forms. Following a half-century against Sri Lanka in February, the left handed batsman Soumya crossed 20 only once in eight attempts.
Meanwhile, the focus will be on pacer Taskin who is attempting a comeback after recovering from a back injury. The pacer wasn’t considered for the T20Is against Afghanistan and the ongoing tour of West Indies due to injury problem.
The One-day series will be played in Wicklow from August 1 to August 10, followed by the three T20 games in Dublin on August 13, 15 and 17.
