Bangladesh Bank (BB) Deputy Governor Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan has been nominated as the co-chair of the Asia Pacific Group (APG) on Money Laundering.
The government has nominated Razee Hassan as the co-chair for 2018- 2020 period to work with Australia for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, said a press release on Tuesday.
Established in 1997, AGP is the regional organisation of the Financial Action Task Force, an international standard rating organisation for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
A total of 41 countries of the Asia Pacific region are members of the group.
In addition to the member countries, APG is playing a vital role to observe eight counties and 18 international organisations.
