Bayazid, who opened the nut and bolt of the Padma Bridge, remanded for 7 days

A Shariatpur court has granted a seven-day remand to Bayazid Talha, the accused in a case filed against him on charge of opening nut and bolt from the railing of the Padma Bridge.
On Monday afternoon, Shariatpur Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court Judge Salehuzzaman granted the remand.
According to court sources, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police produced Bayazid in court on Monday and asked for his remand for 10 days. The Shariatpur Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court granted him a seven-day remand.
Earlier, on the day the Padma Bridge opened to the public (Sunday), a 34-second TikTok video went viral in different social media platforms.
In the video, Bayazid Talha is standing next to the railing of the bridge and opening the nut of two bolts. The video holder is heard to say, ‘This loose body, loose nut, I’m making a video.’
The CID arrested him from city’s Shantinagar area in the afternoon soon after the matter was spread.
A case has been filed against him under the Special Powers Act.
Meanwhile, according to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sources, Bayezid Talha removed screws and nuts from the railing of Padma Bridge using tools.
Rezaul Masud, special police super of Cyber Intelligence and Risk Management Department of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), informed this at a press conference at the CID office in the capital’s Malibagh on Monday.
