The teachers and students of Department of Dairy Science of the Animal Husbandry faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed the ‘World Milk Day’ on Sunday with much enthusiasm and amid festivity on the campus.
A delightful procession was brought out from the Animal Husbandry faculty building at around 10:00 am and paraded campus with different types of poster, festoon and placard with the participation of present and former students, teachers and staffs. The BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Haque participated in the rally.
Department of Dairy Science arranged a milk feeding programme at the schools on the campus as a part of the daylong celebration. Later, the department arranged a seminar on ‘Think Milk, Drink Milk’.
Inaugurating the seminar as chief guest, BAU VC urged the Animal Husbandry (AH) graduates and researchers to perform effective research upon livestock to increase production of milk, meat and egg for ensuring nutritional security of the common people of the country.
