Badhan, a voluntary blood donation organization, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) zone in Mymensingh celebrated its 15th founding anniversary on Saturday with much enthusiasm and amid festivity on the campus.
They chalked out a daylong programme to celebrate the day including blood group test, discussion and colorful procession with various types of poster, festoon and placard with the participation of students and teachers.
They arranged a free blood group test programme on the campus at around 10 am. Later, they brought out a colorful procession on the campus.
After the rally a discussion meeting was held at the TSC mini Conference Room on the campus. BAU associate students affair advisor Prof Dr Alamgir Hossain was present as the chief guest while Md Murshedul Islam president of Badhan BAU Zonal council presided over the function.
“The main activity of ‘Badhan’ is motivating students and young generation to donate blood voluntarily and we also served free blood group test of common people”, said Murshedul.
On September 9 in 2000, ‘Badhan’ established in the BAU campus and donated more than 19 thousand bags fresh blood.
