The Syndicate of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) approved the annual budget of Tk 1569 million for the fiscal year 2014-15.
The budget was passed on Sunday in the 304th syndicate meeting with Vice-chancellor Professor Md Rafiqul Hoque in the chair.
Of the total amount, University Grants Commission (UGC) will allocate Tk 1499 million while Tk 70 million will come from the university’ own income, said a release signed by Dr Aminur Rahman Chowdhury, director of BAU Public Relation and Publication office.
About Tk 1305.5 million will be spent for salary of the teachers, officers, and employees and pension for the retired persons, while about Tk 101 million will spent for educational purpose including research activities, the release added.
