City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said no battery run rickshaw and the paddle driven richshaws without the update license will be allowed in the city after the specific date. He said after expiry of the current rickshaw license of padel driven , will be seized accordingly.
He disclosed it while exchanging views with the leaders of the Chittagong Mohanagar Richshaw Malik Parishad at Nagar Bhaban yesterday .
City Mayor said there are registered 53,742 padel driven rickshaws in the city and urged the owners to renew their rickshaw licnce within the sptipulated time otherwise disciplinary action will be taken against them.
He also reiterated his determination to take actions against the battery run rickshaws on the basis of the higher court. Among others, chief executive officer of City corporation Md. Abul Hossain, Chief Engineer Lt. Col. Mohiuddin Ahmed , Chief Advisor of Rickshaw Owners Parishad Waziullah, Advisor Monir Hossain , chandan Khastagir were present on the occasion, a ccc sources said.
