Bashundhara Kings beat Mohammedan

League leaders Bashundhara Kings beat Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by a solitary goal in their match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Bashundhara Kings led the points table securing 49 points from 17 matches, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited earned 29 points from as many matches.
Bashundhara’s Argentine recruit Raul Becerra scored the all-important goal in the 4th minute of the injury time (94th minute).
Mohammedan’s goalkeeper Sujon was showed red card due to unplayable attitude in the 20th minute of the play. Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson Robinho and his teammate Biplo Ahmed advanced with the ball and Mohammedan’s goalkeeper Sujon came out of the danger zone to resist Biplo but the ball touched his hand. Thus Sujon was awarded red card and Mohammedan became a ten-man team. Anik of Mohammedan was dropped from the squad and substitute goalie Bipu was the replacement of Sujon. Earlier, Raul Becerra missed an opportunity in the 14th minute of the play.
In the 76th minute of the match, defender Yasin Khan of Bashundhara Kings roughly charged Mohammedan’s substitute custodian Bipu. Thus the referee showed red card to Yasin Khan and Bashundhara Kings became ten-man team.
However, the league leaders earned three points from yesterday’s match as Raul Becerra got a ball from the substitute forward Sabuj and Becerra scored the match-decider by a left-footer at the dying moment.
