Bashundhara Group donated Tk 20 lakhs to the parents and wives of Nahid and Morsalin, two victims of the New Market clash, as part of its firm commitment towards the people and country.
Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Soban Anvir handed over the cheques to the affected families at his residence in the capital on Wednesday, said a press release.
Nahid’s father Nadim Mia, mother Nargis Begum and wife Shila and her father Md Dalim received the donation.
Nahid’s mother Nargis Begum hoped the support from Bashundhara Group will help them create an earning source for the families.
From Morsalin’s family, his mother Nurjahan Begum and wife Mitu were present on the occasion.
Bashundhara Group Media Advisor Mohammad Abu Tayeb, News24 TV Executive Editor Rahul Raha and Chief Coordinator to Managing Director Mohammed Golam were present on the occasion.
Nahid and Morsalin were killed during clash between New Market employees and Dhaka College students in the capital recently.
