Basanti Chakma MP declared persona -non-grata, ultimatum to leave CHT

Bangali Organization of Hill Rights Forum has declared Basanti Chakma, MP of reserved women’s seat as persona -non-grata and at the same time, Basanti Chakma has given ultimatum to leave Chattrorgam Hill Tracts (CHT).
The organization has announced road blockade on next Sunday in Khagrachhari. The announcement was made from a strike held in Mahajan Para area of the city on Friday morning.
The strike was held in protest of the speech of Basanti Chakma in the 1st session of the Parliament on last 26th February.
The leaders and activists of Hill Rights Forum took position in main road of Mahajan Para area of district town and blocked the road, halting vehicular movement.
During the strike, the central president of the Hill Rights Forum Main Uddin said , Basanti Chakma is an extremist leader. She purposely presented the false and imaginative statements in the Parliament to destroy communal harmony.
Main Uddin also said, “MP Basanti Chakma has hurt religious sentiments in her speech.
The protesters demanded four-point to the government. Later, they announced the fresh programme of 12-hour road blockade on next Sunday.
At that time, the Central General Secretary of the Hill Rights Forum SM Masum Rana and Matiranga Upazila Vice-chairman Anisuzzaman Dalim were present among others.
Earlier, a group of leaders and activists of the organisation brought out a procession from the Chengi Square area of the city at around 10am. The procession paraded the main road of Khagrachhari district town.
