Barrister Mozammel Hossain makes Bangladesh proud

Bangladeshi born barrister Mozammel Hossain has been appointed Queen’s Counsel. He will be sworn in at the Westminster Hall at the Houses of Parliament in the UK on March 11, says a press release.

He is the first criminal lawyer of Bangladeshi origin to be appointed as QC. He is one of the youngest barristers ever to be appointed QC.
He was the first overseas student to become the president of the Students’ Union of the Inns of Court School of Law (ICSL), he was a governor of ICSL during 2000-01.
He passed HSC examinations from Dhaka College.He obtained LLB degree from the University of Liverpool.
He was born in Mollar Howla village in Sadar upazila, Barishal.
One of the most dynamic legal figures currently practising in the UK, Mozammel Hossain comes from a family which has distinguished itself for its services to humanity. His family is noted for providing all sorts of aid to freedom fighters during Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
He is seen as one of the most outstanding performers in the UK courts of law. The UK Court of Appeal has described him as a barrister of ‘ great eloquence”.
The legendary UK barrister Michael Mansfield QC once described him in the following way:
 “He is a rarity at the current Bar. Someone with an inimitable style, good humour and charm. And best of all passion. In all of these aspects he stands well above the rest.”
