U-18 Nat'l Cricket: Barisal Div trails by 136 runs against Khulna Div on day-2

Saiful Islam’s 7-wicket haul restricted Barisal Division to 93/10 in the first innings against Khulna Division and they trailed by 136 runs on the 2nd day of the 3-day match of Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Competition at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Wednesday.
On the 2nd day of the match, Khulna Division resumed the first innings with overnight 220 for 5 in 78 overs and eventually scored 276 runs for 8 in stipulated 90 overs.
Overnight batsman Ashikur Rahman, who hit a century with 102 runs on the first day, finally scored 114 runs off 218 balls with 13 fours and a six.
Sajal Islam (not out 17), Saiful Islam (11), Minhazul Islam (6) and Alif Akhter (not out 4) were the other scorers for Khulna on the 2nd day.
Mridul Devnath and Sardar Md Yasin claimed three wickets each for 62 and 78 runs respectively in 29 and 17 overs.
Opening the 1st innings, Barisal Division were all out for 93 runs in 55.5 overs with Naimul Islam Shuvo scoring team highest 39 runs.
Saiful Islam grabbed 7 wickets for 26 runs in 15.5 overs.
Later, Barisal Division opened the 2nd innings as they followed on and scored 47 runs for 3 wickets in 35 overs.
Naimul Islam Shuvo scored 17 runs off 53 balls while Samir Md Kutubuddin (7) and Mridul Devnath (0) were batting when bails were drawn for the 2nd day.
Chittagong vs Sylhet
In the day’s other match, Chittagong Division trailed by 53 runs against Sylhet Division on the 2nd day at Cricket Garden in Rangpur.
Replying to Chittagong Division’s 69 for all in 54.3 overs in the first innings on the first day on Tuesday, Sylhet Division resumed the first innings with overnight 95 for 3 in 35 overs and scored 201 for 8 in 90 overs on Wednesday.
Chittagong Division opened the 2nd innings on Wednesday and scored 79 runs for 2 in 44 overs. Abdullah Al Mashrur and Golam Rabbi Fahim were batting on 14 and 0 runs respectively.
Meanwhile, in the two other matches on day-1 today (Wednesday), batting first Rajshahi Division scored 91/4 in 25 overs in the first innings against Dhaka Division North at stumps on the first day at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar. Tawhid Hridoy and Tohirul Islam were batting on 19 and 4 runs respectively.
In the other match at Cox’s Bazar-2, sent in to bat first, Rangpur Division scored 52/3 in 30 overs against Dhaka Metro at stumps on the first day. Shakil Islam Sobuj (22) and Shamsuzzaman Swapan (1) were batting.
