Baridhara split points with Soccer Club

Uttar Baridhara Club and Soccer Club split points when their match ended in a 1-1 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. In the day’s match, captain Shohidul Islam Swapan put Uttar Baridhara ahead early in the 7th minute with an angular shot from the edge of the box off a cutback from Nigerian midfielder Kosoko (1-0). Gambian defender Mathew Mendy restored the parity for Feni Soccer Club in the match in the 26th minute. Forward Sayed Rashid Torza put a cross to unmarked Wassiou whose powerful left footer beat Baridhra goalie Osman Goni in the far post (1-1). Soccer missed a certain scoring chance in the 38th minute but goalie Osman Goli saved a 20 yards powerful shot taken by midfielder Azmal Hossain Bidyut. Wassiou Okalawon missed another scoring chance in the 55th minute having one on one situation with opponent custodian Osman Goni but his shot was punched away by goalie. Baridhara had a chance to move ahead but forward Sujon Biswas’s shot saved by Soccer goalie M Nehal for corner in the 67th minute. Feni Soccer disappointed again in the 84th minute when Gambian defender Mathew Mandy’s header hit the right side post on a free kick of defender Akramuzzaman Liton from the right.After the day’s outcome, Baridhara earned 6 points from seven matches while the Feni Soccer collected 3 points from same number of outings.
