BARI holds International Training on IPM

The Entomology Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) and CIMMYT-FtF Bangladesh IPMA jointly organized a 5-day international training titled “Mass rearing of different parasitoids and their field applications as a component of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)” at the Seminar Room of BARI on Sunday.
Some10 trainees from different public and private institutions of Nepal and Bangladesh are participating in this training program to be held from 23-27 July 2022 with the funding of USAID Mission, Bangladesh.
Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Bokhtiar inaugurated the training workshop as chief guest. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker presided over the function while Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam and Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Ferdousi Islam were present as special guests.
Principal Investigator of Virginia Tech University’s IPM Lab Dr. Rangaswamy Muniappan was present as guest of honor.
Chief Scientific Officer & Head of the Entomology Division Dr. Nirmal Kumar Dutta gave the welcome address while Principal Scientific Officer of the division Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Sarker conducted the function.
